Daniel Brandt, co-founder of Brandt Brauer Frick’s German electro-acoustic ensemble, released his second solo album Channelsin October. It was loosely linked to last year’s Eternal Something. Both albums were published under the prestigious experimental label Erased Tapes. He originally planned to record only a drum album but during the recording, his intentions changed considerably, creating a captivating and adventurous soundtrack that includes thunderous trombones, rhythmically intermingling guitar tones as well as rolling and playful drums. From unobtrusive motifs, the gradual layering of sounds creates an impressive complex that best comes forth during a live performance.
The evening dedicated to Erased Tapes will open up with their latest discovery, Californian singer and multi-instrumentalist David Allred, who appeared in the label last year in collaboration with Peter Broderick, and in November 2018 released his debut solo album The Transition.
